Just a quick note to say the surgery went fine. He didn't cry when the nurse took him back and mommy did just fine too.
He was pretty upset when he woke up but they said that is to be expected. I just called my mom's to check on him and he was playing normally, ate a HUGE lunch and went down for a nap like all was good with the world.
The doctor made a point of stopping us to tell us how much "thick fluid" was in his ears and that his hearing should be greatly improved now. That made me feel much better and like we really did make the right choice to have this done.

Hey there
I hope the little man recovers just fine.... and to make you feel better... my BF's son had it done when he was two (ish)... he had major speech issues before and didn't talk much (although he understood just fine and did sign language).
After the surgery they said "connor - how are you feeling" and he looked and them and said "WOW, I can hear now"...
And he hasn't stopped talking since! So sometimes surgery is a good thing!
:-) AL
I've heard always good stories about tubes once recommended by the doctor. Isn't it amazing how quick those little people bounce back?
Great to hear (no pun intended) that he came through the surgery like a champ. Now hopefully he wil feel much, much better.
Oh good! Glad that you got that news-- now there is no question in your mind!
I'm glad to hear that you little guy is okay and that you have the reassurance that he needed the tubes. I really hopes this helps the poor guy feel better.
I am glad things went well!
just stop over the next few days and listen to him babbling/talking to you. that's why it needed done ...and at this age, he hopefully won't remember the trauma - they are resilient little cuties!
now you can enjoy his birthday and he can hear you sing to him!
I hope this helps him feel a LOT better very quickly!
So glad it's over and things went well. My oldest son, at age 2, had to have an umbilical herina repair. While it was no big deal as far as surgeries go (I am a nurse) it was so stressful as a parent.
Give him a hug for me :)
hears a song for his first B-Day..From the movie the Bodyguard.. I will always love you or how about the song from a George Strait movie..I promise you...It is from the movie,Pure Country.I guarantee it will make you cry.I often wonder what became of my son..after I had to give him up for being a lesbian...
